Magdalen College Requiem for Cardinal Pole

Reginald Cardinal Pole died on 17th November 1558, and Traditional Masses were said for him around the country. In Oxford we had a Sung Requiem in Pole's undergraduate college, Magdalen, by kind permission of the President and the Chaplain. The above picture is by Br Lawrence Lew OP who was present; see his NLM post here; the below ones I took myself.

Notice the three Knights of Malta in choir dress in the picture below; the Order of Malta was (briefly) restored in England under Queen Mary and Cardinal Pole. The one nearest the altar is Mr Julian Chadwick, Chairman of the Latin Mass Society.

The Mass was very successful; the setting of Magdalen College Chapel is wonderful, and the Schola Beati Thomae Abelis sang extremely well under the direction of Mr Adrian Taylor. Fr John Osman sang the Mass, his first ever Traditional Sung Mass.

I videoed the very erudite and balanced sermon by Fr John Osman at this Mass. It is 14 minutes long but extremely interesting.
