Easter Monday at St Birinus, Dorchester

015

This year the pews at the front were rearranged to allow the schola more room.

Another innovation, to overcome the difficulties presented by the very small sanctuary, Br Lawrence read the epistle from the nave side of the Rood Screen.

Something to notice is the new figures on the Rood: Our Lord, Our Lady and St John.

You can see the old ones here, on the same occasion last year (more photos of that):

<span>These vestments are exquisite. Are they newly commissioned?

Fr Osman tells me: The vestments on Easter Monday were from the Birmingham Oratory.

<span>The vestments shown for last year look fitting in style for the Oratory but the vestments for Easter Monday this year seem more medieval in style. In any case, lovely photos.
