Having taught in the L'viv seminary of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, I would point out that in 988 AD what we now know as Russia (Muscovy until 1700) did not exist. <br />Volodymyr the Great returned to Kyivan Rus' and there in Kyiv Greek Christianity was adopted. <br />It's all part of the Muscovite tendency to steal the history of Kyivan Rus' Moscow didn't exist until 1147. It became the Grand Duchy of Muscovy and conquered Kyiv in 1654, ecclesiastically seizing control of it in 1686. Too often we accept the Tsarist-Soviet-Russian imperialist view of history which tries to deny nationhood to countries like Ukraine. Rev. Dr F.
