Whether or not he would have been right to do so it would appear that there is no evidence that he ever did so. Secondly Pope Francis implied that the same permission could be given to women fearful of the effects of the Zika virus. I take it you would agree that it is a false analogy as in the case of these women we are talking about consensual intercourse. It is a statement by Pope Francis that is contrary to the teaching of the Church and needs correcting by him.
