Obedience and faith are trustworthy and that is what God desires from us. And, try to avoid making the liturgy into an idol in and of itself. The liturgy is a framework, but the content must come from truth in the heart of all who participate in worship - and in faith in the Presence of God in the Eucharist. That is what God wants; not a show, but intellectual and willed communion from the heart.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30490922.post-767645816959764782016-04-06T20:08:50.691+01:002016-04-06T20:08:50.691+01:00I defy anyone to have a proper understanding of St...I defy anyone to have a proper understanding of St Paul by just listening to one of his letters being read and not having the text in front of one.Nicolas Bellordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08063019108964247676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30490922.post-56322433265730457342016-04-02T11:01:50.280+01:002016-04-02T11:01:50.280+01:00Thankyou for your thorough and good article on th...Thankyou for your thorough and good article on the subject of correct clear elevated projection of Liturgical Latin texts.
I subscribe to LMS and attend EF in Greater Manchester by the Providence of God through His Son Our Lord Jesus Christ... very close to my home Parish.
Of late I have experienced changes in speed associated with Mass said in Latin. I normally associate this variation of at once quick alternating with slow speed with vernacular... Novus Ordo post Vatican 2. It is such that from one day to the next the congregation either are distracted by having to speed up... or the reverse and slow down. Two days are often not the same. Can I ask your advice ? Is it acceptable to approach the Priest to discuss this or is it well to leave well alone and at best try not to be distracted by the speed fluctuations Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18389468890327613304noreply@blogger.com
