I can think of at least eight such, from Modernists to Ultra Trads. I certainly get amused to sad looks when I mention I’m off to the Latin Mass this week.

The Pope recently likened the Church to a casualty station. That is very apposite. The army continues to desert, many of the remainder are disabled, and the walking wounded, all eight factions, are quarrelling amongst themselves. Meanwhile, two deadly armies, the Secularists and Islam are appearing over the horizon. As for the Pope, well, he is busy evangelising and rightly so. But he must also put the same prioity on getting all these factions back to the Catholicism in Continuity as Benedict showed.

Yes, he has produced his somewhat rambling, imprecise Exhortation, thus keeping the “what the Pope really means” brigade, happy. Don’t get me wrong , Joseph, I agree with your interpretation.
But it seems that If you wish to preserve and preach the Faith of two thousand years of Catholicism and express it in the liturgy as our ancestors were required to do, from St Gregory through to John XXIII, then you risk being accused of narcissism, whatever that is? That has to change.

And, what’s more.... Yes, coming!

Sorry, must go. Just been called downstairs for my double (on this occasion) whisky, then we've to go out to see the fireworks.

So, lang .... , no, they won’t understand, eh,

A happy and a prosperous (and a holy ) New Year to all.
Jacobihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04743062941733814176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30490922.post-24645057215576440322013-12-31T17:10:24.813+00:002013-12-31T17:10:24.813+00:00I grew up in the kind of parish you described, pra...I grew up in the kind of parish you described, prayer groups, committees and all: I hope they read this blog and take note. - I also hope Pope Francis reads this post, his reaction might be interesting.Gadflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07537123281964278798noreply@blogger.com
