LMS Pilgrimage and Appeal to and for SS Peter & Paul, New Brighton

1954 advertHelp the LMS to help the Dome of Home!
The Latin Mass Society is asking its members and supporters to contribute to an appeal for the Shrine of SS Peter & Paul, New Brighton, which is now in the care of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, and a centre for the Traditional Mass.

The money is needed to match funding offered by the National Lottery for the restoration of the church. This historical importance of the Shrine is reflected by its use in this advertisement for the original builders in the Catholic Directory shortly after it was completed. It was and remains one of the most impressive churches of its era in the country.

You can of course donate directly to the Shrine; the LMS is appealing through our magazine, Mass of Ages, and you can contribute online using the button above. More info here.

We are also organising the first ever Latin Mass Society Pilgrimage to the Shrine. Join us there!

The Shrine is a special centre of Eucharistic adoration, and they have a very special monstrance, which has to be winched into position using a purpose-built lift behind the Altar.

The Shrine also has a first class relic of St Philomena, which pilgrims will be able to venerate after Benediction. For more about St Philomena, and why she annoys modernists, see here.
