Solemn Mass #Chartres Cathedral

We have just had a wondeful Solemn Mass 'before a greater

prelate', celebrated by Mgr Gilles Wach before the bishop

of Chartres.

I found the Shrime of Our Lady if the Pillar, one of the three shrines od Our Lady in the Cathedral.

Tomorrow we are having Mass in the Shrine of Our Lady 'Sous Terre', the oldest shrine, in the Crypt.

Why would people celebrate the mass in latin and not in ancient greek since the New Testament was first written in Greek... Latin was just a traduction!

Not sure I follow the argument. Latin has been the language of the liturgy in the West since the 4th Century. Exactly why it was translated into Latin back then is lost in the mists of time, but it's not exactly a current problem.

I am writing a book on the liturgy. You have gorgeous pictures of the Tridentine Mass. Are two or three of them available for my self-published book? Thanks-Dan
