Did I miss something? Summorum Pontificum was not mentioned. (Ecumenism was mentioned twice, and with a promise of "more to come"). It could well have been a tribute to John Paul II, couldn't it?
I think the idea is to defend the Holy Father from his liberal critics. For those who say he is not interested in 'ecumenism' (whatever that means), they point out that he has done a great deal in the way of visiting engaging with other religious leaders, who take him very seriously.
