At this year's Summer School we had 66 children and a staff of seven, at St Cassian's Centre, Kintbury, including our chaplain, Fr Andrew Southwell.
On Wednesay, the feast of the Transfiguration, we had a trip to Oxford and Mass at the Oratory.
The St Catherine's Trust Summer School is unusual in having a fair amount of teaching: history, philosophy, Latin, catechism, ancient Greek -- obviously there is a limit to what we can convey in a week but it is informative as well as fun. We also have a staged reading of a play and a quiz, and a visiting speaker Fr Rupert Allen of the Oxford Oratory.
As well as Sung Mass each day we have sung Compline each evening.
We have various activities in the afternoon. These young ladies were doing sewing. This year's project was making miniature copes for statues of saints.
The final Mass, with some of the parents who joined us for lunch before taking their children home.
